I've been using Italia's straps since 2005ish when I bought my first one from their eBay store. They are all I use with my basses.
I bought this one because I wanted a bit more grippy of a back. It looks and feels great with my '59 Burst Sadowsky PJ-5.
These straps are very comfortable and durable. I absolutely love them. I have 2, both on Hamer 12 strings. They look great. And what can I say they’re Italian!

I could barely wait for my strap to arrive, and it exceeded my expectations. The supple leather was a welcome change from the stiff leather strap I’d been using, and the craftsmanship is perfection. The royal blue backing sets everything off. I don’t know which I like more: my new bass or my Italia Leather strap!

I got the 4 inch wide black leather with blue backing strap. Absolutely beautiful. A must have for a heavy guitar. Evenly distributes the weight. The craftsmanship is stellar on it, this is a really high quality strap. The color choices are pretty cool too. Highly recommend!
I now have 5 Italia Straps which are all beautiful and highly crafted. I use the 4" for my Les Pauls ( which REALLY help with the weight distribution) and use the 2.5" for my SG's, which fit their weight perfectly. I tested the 2.5" on my Les Paul and did not like it, so 4" is definitely the way to go. Make sure you give it some break in time so that you get that nice bend to fit your shoulder. I still have a couple of other guitars with Other straps and I hate using them. Italia straps are the only way for me to go now!
I have several Italia 4" straps, and each one has been used for years. I think they are becoming even better the longer that they are in use. They look great, are supple and pliable, and the 4" width makes even a heavier instrument comfortable for longer sets/gigs. Exactly why I'm purchasing another one for my newly acquired Gibson Ripper Bas.
